December 2011 – Salt Spring Community Food Bank

The Salt Spring Community Food Bank relies solely on financial and non perishable food donations and is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Almost all of the donations are from our local community. Local financial funding allows Community Services the choice to support our local businesses by buying locally and enables them to provide a healthy, nutritious and protein enriched selection for all clients. Special dietary needs are also accommodated when ever possible.

The food bank serves roughly 110 to 150 people a week including island children, their parent(s), seniors, and people living at risk.
