Many of our seven principles deal with, or at least point us towards, acceptance of the beliefs of others. Many of us even pursue learning about and forging connections between our beliefs, and the beliefs of others. This tolerant and accepting attitude does not sit well with everyone, however. There will always be those who will criticism us for not accepting “THE TRUTH”, which really means not accepting what they have chosen.
So how does one deal with that person, without becoming aggressive and antagonistic yourself? Well the first step usually lies in understanding the strength and value in being able to say “I believe”, and why that phrase frightens them so. From that understanding comes the courage to show kindness, without compromising your convictions.
